Federal Nutrition: How to apply for SNAP and CSFP in state


State and Local Nutrition: Local meals on wheels, food pantries, community meals, etc.

  • Meals on Wheels: Meals on Wheels provides two meals a day to homebound adults age 60 or older, or adults of any age with a chronic health condition or disability who meet program eligibility guidelines, and live in Frederick County. A hot meal is delivered midday, accompanied by a cold meal that can be refrigerated and eaten later.
  • Home Delivered Meals: Home delivered meals are available for homebound older adults, 60 years or older who meet the program eligibility requirements and live within the service areas of senior centers in Brunswick, Emmitsburg, Frederick and Urbana. 
  • Senior Center Lunch Bunch Program: A meal is available at mid-day, Monday-Thursday, at one of the four senior centers for on-site dining.

    • The Frederick Community Table provides an evening meal seven days a week/365 days a year

    • A free monthly distribution of seasonal produce, canned goods, and shelf stable products in a farmers market style setting.   
    • Date: 3rd Friday of each month
    • Time: Noon (and continues until all food is distributed)

    • Eligibility: All Frederick County residents age 60+ with an income at or below $1600 per month are eligible to participate.
      • Please bring a photo I.D. to register the first time.
    • Food Pantries:
      • FREDERICK FOOD BANK: Provides a 3- to 5-day supply of food to families and individuals that are experiencing an economic crisis and cannot afford their groceries. Currently, the Food Bank operates out of two locations.

          • Hours: Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri, 2PM-4PM; Mon and Wed, 6PM-8PM
        • Trinity Location: 6040 New Design Road, Frederick, MD 21703

        • Frederick Rescue Mission:
          • HOURS: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 1:30 – 3:30 pm
          • Senior Serve: Fridays 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Age 65+ ONLY. ID and senior present in line REQUIRED.
