Broccoli

Broccoli falls under the dark green category for the vegetable group. Broccoli contains many nutrients such as antioxidants, fiber, and folate, also known as vitamin B9, that all support both our physical and mental health. For some people, broccoli can be problematic due to the raffinose it contains. Raffinose is a type of sugar molecule that can lead to gastrointestinal discomfort, such as bloating and gas when consumed in excess. When having broccoli, keep to a 1 cup serving. Try eating the broccoli head only if that is better tolerated. Also, cooked broccoli may be easier to digest.
