Tomatoes

Tomatoes are generally a staple and they come in a variety of shapes and types. There are cherry tomatoes, plum tomatoes, grape tomatoes, and heirloom varieties that are gold and purple. Then there's also the shape of the tomato - is it an oval shape? A round shape?

Tomatoes have no saturated fat, or cholesterol, and are low in calories. They're also high in vitamin C and vitamin A. Tomatoes are rich in fiber and potassium (which helps maintain healthy blood pressure levels), as well as other antioxidants like lycopene, lutein, and beta-carotene that can help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain types of cancers. Not only are tomatoes good for your health, but they're also good for your overall well-being too!

Here are some tasty ways to eat more tomatoes:

1) Add them to wraps or sandwiches; try using them instead of lettuce or other vegetables for added flavor and crunch!

2) Make sauces or salsas by blending up tomatoes with herbs, spices, garlic, onions…whatever sounds good to you!

3) Bake them into a frittata with eggs and cheese; this can be a great breakfast if you're short on time but still want something delicious!

Tomatoes can be incorporated into your meals in a variety of different ways. Whether you add fresh tomatoes to your salad or use them to make a pasta sauce, tomatoes are healthy and can make a great addition to your meals!
