Vanilla Extract

Often only thought of to use in baked goods, vanilla extract pairs well with many foods! Consider adding to fish to enhance its sweetness. Add it to tomato sauce (this can help the sauce taste less acidic). Toss your vegetables with some olive oil and vanilla extract and roast in the oven (sweet potatoes, parsnips, and beets are great options). Add a few drops of vanilla extract to unsweetened milk and/or plain yogurt in place of buying pre-flavored versions. Add a few drops of vanilla extra with some milk to your coffee in place of using creamers. Studies have shown this can help drastically decrease excess added sugar intake. The possibilities are endless!
