What is Motivation?
What exactly is motivation?
Oxford Learners Dictionary defines motivation as, “the feeling of wanting to do something, especially something that involves hard work or effort”.
Motivation will be helpful for a lot of the things you might want to do on your health journey, as they will involve hard work and/or effort. For example, if you want to…
-
Start eating healthier
-
Become more active
-
Improve your sleep or
-
Drink more water
But feeling like you want to do something isn’t always enough to get it done. To stay motivated it’s helpful to know why you want to do something. We call this finding your “why”, but you might be wondering, what exactly is a “why”? You can find more information about this in our article titled "Finding Your Why", click here to check it out!
Bonus: If you're up for a challenge, try writing down a few areas of your life where you currently feel motivated and/or want to feel more motivated.
